adding galleries OUTSIDE normal gallery path

I do a lot of photoshop work with multiple directories and would like to use SOME of those directories as galleries, without having to copy all the files. Is there a way?

Re: adding galleries OUTSIDE normal gallery path

Addendum: What I'm hoping to achieve is either:
1. multiple directory paths within the main gallery, or
2. multiple galleries with directories OUTSIDE the /PHOTO/ structure

Unfortunately, this is not possible without some PHP script modifications. Singapore Photo Gallery, found in BLOG:CMS, is a rather simple script, you might want to substitute Singapore for, e.g., Copermine or some other photo gallery dedicated script.

Re: adding galleries OUTSIDE normal gallery path

Radek,
I looked at the coppermine site and could only find code for a full stand-alone setup. I saw that you had posted to them that you had figured out how to add it into BLOG-CMS. Could you give me some help on how to do that? I like your setup (no tables, etc) and having a single interface for blogs, forums and images is what I need. I just need the added flexibility for photo management that coppermine provides above that of signapore.  I am a real newbie to PHP and to the arrangement of how the BLOGCMS files interact, so I would be grateful for any help you have time to provide.

Re: adding galleries OUTSIDE normal gallery path

Hi Radek,
Just had some bad experiences with Coppermine.
1. the site admin only wants to talk to "professional" web hosters
2. cpg does not have any facility (built-in) for self-hosted galleries, to "link" to the actual photos on the server. CPG requires that the photos be copied/uploaded into a CPG folder.

I tried playing with Winbolic links, but since the CPG admin didn't want to talk to me, I got no help on using it. WHen I used CPG to delete photos from the gallery, CPG deleted the actual photos, even though I was NOT using junctions.

I am nw going to try Menalto Gallery2. Then I'll try to build a bridge.

DJ
