SEF urls from admin

Hi,
search friendly URLs could be turned on or off from admin area, like b2evolution does. It's easyer to maintain and can be configured separately per blog.

Offtopic: personally I don't like current way the SEF URLs are handled, since I suppose Blog:CMS is more CMS than Blog, so URLs should be generated acording to the existing stub a.k.a. blog filename instead as http;//main.url/blog/1 etc.

Re: SEF urls from admin

SEO URLs *can* be switched on/off in Global Settings, you shall investigare BLOG:CMS better. Also, URLs are created like http://your.domain/item/this-is-item-title or http://your.domain/item/this-is-item-ti … gory-title

See:

Re: SEF urls from admin

OK, ok man. You're right. smile We *can* switch it on or off on admin part. I already knew it, so I should rewrite the question. And I'll try to clear it up.
At first, let's keep in mind that it's multiblog instalation. Blog 1 is index.php, blog 2 is news.php. Currently friendly URLs are like yourdomain.com/blog/1, blog/2. I think you could implement SFE URL handling like yourdomain.com/page/1 , /page/2 or even better way: /index.php/catnumber, news.php/catnumber. Probably it should be mixed with item/glory-title. wink Why? Because Blog:CMS is kind-a-CMS, isn't it? wink
This is just a quick roundup. Hope this will not sound annoying to you.

Re: SEF urls from admin

muchio, I am not sure what exactly you want to accomplish. To me, URLs like /item/vaclav-havel/category/politics is just great. Would you also like to have an option to have /blog/anne, /blog/peter instead of /blog/1, /blog/2?

That is easily possible...

Re: SEF urls from admin

Sorry for misguiding you. roll SEF urls are ok. Guess I've been annoyed seeing main.url/blog/2/item/gloryous-title instead of main.url/news.php/item/gloryous-title. Just it. But it's not a big deal, though. I can manage that.
Cheers!

Offtopic: Don't you think, that admin url (currently /nucleus) can be defined as variable $admin_dir=nucleus and used as $admin_dir everywhere in the source? So, user could define admin dir during instalation. I'm asking for that, becaue I saw, that install.php and index.php has ./nucleus/bla hardcoded.
