E-mail address display issues

http://sushubh.net/item/from-wordpress- … cms#cmmnt1

Now, this post shows the email id of someone who commented on my post. The problem is that the mail id is in open and not encrypted. Isn't it a bad thing?

Mail ID should never be displayed. At best only a webaddress should be used instead. smile

And I cannot find any setting to remove the mail ids. or disable display of mail ids. The best thing to do is have seperate fields for mail and uri and use just uri for the user id.

Re: E-mail address display issues

no, I believe it is NOT a bad thing. I have my address in open for ages and receive 1 or 2 spam emails a day ONLY  big_smile

Anyway, if more users will ask for some :encryption:, I might do it..

Re: E-mail address display issues

In that case you have been very lucky. But trust me, people don't like seeing their mail ids on open blogs especially when we dont tell them that it will be displayed after you comment.

Re: E-mail address display issues

well, in this case, change <%userlink%> to <%user%>, this will NOT display an anchor, but user name only (change detailed template, Comments Body part)

Finally got it working. smile
Learning the rules of the game bit by bit. But really, some of these things are what many switchers from other tools would be looking for!
